Cuatro elementos son el fundamento de mis recuerdos y de mi presente, es decir de mi. A partir de ellos nacen y se enlazan todas las demás situaciones que moldearían mi vida.

Dos, llegaron al mismo tiempo, siendo aun muy niño. El jardín de mi madre y la biblioteca de mi padre. Al primero lo recuerdo inmenso, hasta el horizonte nebuloso. Bosque de rosas, con tallos que alcanzaban el cielo. Y al segundo, luminoso e impenetrable. Cuarto largo y misterioso con ventana pequeña llena de luz, que deletreaba el jardín de afuera. En ninguno de ellos transcurría el tiempo, y yo crecía sin saber que lo que llamamos vida estaba afuera.

El tercero llegó de improvisto, de noche, ojos sin rostro. La perra de hielo o la mamá del niño pueblo. La guerra comenzó en 1980. Y El Salvador explotó. El jardín era una muralla altísima coronada con alambres de púas y la ventana luminosa de la biblioteca una pantalla de televisión. El mundo estaba afuera esperando, el mundo estaba adentro de una caja luminosa, aullando.

El cuarto, fue producto de los tres anteriores, nació quizá como una posibilidad para resucitar el pasado, sobrevivir al presente y vivir el futuro. La necesidad del Arte. Cualquier cosa era una buena superficie sobre la cual dibujar, colorear, pintar y escribir. Y descifrar al mundo descifrándome. Una nube, una pared, un cuerpo, un ala, una ventana, una aureola.

Las Biografías nos presentan con los demás, o nos introducen a un desconocido. Al artista como a los niños únicamente sus garabatos.

Victor nació en Santa Ana, El Salvador. Estudió diseño gráfico en la Universidad Dr. José Matías Delgado. Después de terminar el programa, continuó sus estudios en The Savannah College of Art and Design, gracias a una Beca de Excelencia Internacional otorgada por el presidente de dicha universidad. Completó dos maestrías, una en arte por computadora, enfocada en gráficos en movimiento y la segunda en cine y televisión.

Su película Ever Amado ha sido presentada y premiada en varios festivales incluyendo el 57 Festival de Cine Internacional de Berlin, Newfilmmakers NYC, Anthology Archives NYC, El Paso TX Film Festival, ICARO en América Central, S.U.R.G.E. FF, Künstlerhauskino Wien-Iberoamerikanische Filmtage, Vancouver Latin American Film Festival y The North Carolina Film Festival entre otros.

Actualmente Victor dirige su estudio de diseño llamado Santasombra en el área metropolitana de Nueva York. El ha trabajado para XEROX, Moore Business, Universidad Dr. José Matías Delgado, ASA Poster, JWT, Gretel.tv, Meta-Lingo, UDirect, HRM, SCAD, NBC Universal, Sports & Olympics entre otros. Ha sido nominado para dos premios EMMY en la categoria de "Diseño Gráfico Sobresaliente" por su trabajo con NBC Sports & Olympics en la creación del paquete gráfico para las Olimpiadas de Beijing del 2008 y por el paquete gráfico de FNIA y SNL de la NFL durante 2007. En el 2010 fue parte nuevamente del equipo de diseño para TV de NBC Olympics para las Olimpiadas de Invierno en Vancouver, Canada.

There are four elements that make up the foundation of my memories and of my present, that is to say, of me. They gave birth to and laced themselves through all the situations that mold my life.

Two of them arrived at the same time, while I was still a child: my mother’s garden and my father’s library. I remember the first one deeply, like a cloudy horizon. A forest of roses, with stems that reached to the sky. And the second one, luminous and impenetrable. A mysterious, long room with a small window full of light, which spelled the garden outside of it. Time stood still in both places, and I grew up without knowing that what we call life was outside.

The third one arrived all the sudden, at night, eyes without a face. The icy bitch or the mother of the young peoples. The war began in 1980 and El Salvador exploded. The garden was a very tall wall crowned with razor wire, and the luminous window of the library was a television screen. The world was outside, waiting; the world was inside a luminous box, howling.

The fourth one was a result of the three previous ones; perhaps it was born as a possibility to revive the past, to survive the present and to live the future. The necessity of art. Anything was a good surface on which to draw, to color, to paint and to write, and to decipher the world deciphering me. A cloud, a wall, a body, a wing, a window, a halo.

Biographies reveal us to the others or they introduce a stranger with us. In the case of the artist like the children only their sketches.

Victor was born in Santa Ana, El Salvador. He studied Graphic Design at Dr. José Matías Delgado University. After finishing the program, he continued his studies at The Savannah College of Art and Design, thanks to an International Excellency Scholarship awarded by the president of the college. He completed two Master's programs, one in Computer Art, with a focus in Motion Graphics and the second in Film and Television.

His film "Ever Amado" has been presented and awarded in many film festivals, including the 57th International Berlinale Film Festival, Newfilmmakers NYC, Anthology Archives NYC, EL Paso TX Film Festival, ICARO in Central America, S.U.R.G.E. FF, Künstlerhauskino Wien- Iberoamerikanische Filmtage, Vancouver Latin American Film Festival, and the North Carolina Film Festival among others.

Currently Victor runs a design studio called Santasombra in the New York Metro area. He has done work for XEROX, Moore Business, Dr. José Matías Delgado University, ASA Poster, JWT, Gretel.tv, Meta-Lingo, UDirect, HRM, SCAD and NBC Universal, Sports & Olympics among others. He has been nominated for two EMMY Awards in the category of "Outstanding Graphic Design" for his work with NBC Olympics, creating the graphic package for The Beijing Olympics 2008, and for the NFL graphics package of FNIA & SNL for NFL 2007. In 2010 he was again a member of the design for TV team of NBC Olympics for the Winter Olympics of Vancouver, Canada.
